It will cost enough to make it worth looking for the lost one for a very long time.

I have used Auto Solutions Auto Locksmiths in Huddersfield previously. As Wino said, this won't be cheap, but an independant may be considerably cheaper than the main dealers. There are also many advertising key cutting/coding on FB Marketplace.

I bought my car with only one key. So decided to get a spare. Not just the key but the whole fob from timpsons ( not sure if they are UK wide ) £220 they even changed the battery in the original fob for free :)

Thats a rip off for a cloned key, at that price you could have had the job done properly by a main dealer with a specific key cut with the RFID chip programmed  ordered from VAG, doing it that way if the lost key ever resurfaced into the wrong hands it would not start the vehicle. Cost is €240 in France on a 7 day turnaround with the 30 minute workshop programming time included.

My cloned key cost £60ish from a Lithuanian on E-bay working out of the front room of his London flat.

thank you guys, i will have another look.

Yes can second that in S Wales the cheapest quote was £225 for replacement key spent a little more time looking and took 2 weeks but found it so well worth having a good rummage around

Yeah thought that was a bit  steep .they ordered from skoda and reprogrammed .take your point about old key resurfacing though highly unlikely ( fingers crossed  )🤞😀

still cant find, have asked for a quote on a local locksmith.

If they really did order from Skoda then it should be the same service, I'm betting though that they clone the existing key.

A key from Skoda should come precut so they will not need to take yours to copy, it should also have one of the tags with a key reference number on it.

I wanted a spare for my daughter's 2009 FII and ordered one on the internet with an uncut blade. Ours was £4.81 on Amazon. Then go to your local locksmith and have the blade cut and the immobiliser chip cloned.

Our PN is 1J0959753DA. Open up your key to check the PN.

This is what came up in a search.

that is very cheap! thanks

that key looks identical to mine, the PN is something to do with the chip right?  so i need to find one with my PN number then the chip will be same as mine?

how much was it to program it?

The "newer" cars have a chip soldered into the circuit board. The FII chip is still separate.

You need an ID48 chip and a frequency of 434 MHz for the remote.

Any locksmith can cut the blank blade and some locksmiths are able and willing to clone. You might need to bring your V5C.

The complete key cost me £60.
