MK3 VRS LED Fog lights

Featured Replies

fitted front LED fog lights tonight and got an error code for both sides, tried coding out the error with both VCDS

and Carista trying different LED settings and even disabling the bulb check with no luck.

waiting on an OBDEleven plugin to arrive might have better luck

Can anoyone advise?

You might need the assistance of @langers2k to assist you with the coding. VCDS will get you there (assuming you have a genuine copy). We just need an appropriate car to match yours to (for coding purposes)

It might help if you posted an autoscan and adaption map of 09 along with which channels you've been changing.

There is a list of various lasttyp options here: https://forums.ross-tech.com/index.php?threads/15387/

Generally speaking, I'd expect either 'allgemeine LED bis 12W' or 'allgemeine LED' to sort the bulb warning for LED's so I'd try changing the front fog lasttyp to 33, 37, 40 and 43.

Ultimately, it'll depend on how the LED drivers are designed and if their characteristics are a close enough match to one of the presets :)

I fitted led foglights to mine, Ill check what option I have selected for mine to not throw an error tomorrow

I've replaced mine with LED's and selected 'LED Lichtmodul' and gives no errors

I just fitted four LED's (two each side) to mine and they work a treat and no errors BUT no recoding either - just plug and play.  This was turning all lights on manually or turning the wheel - they all light up but no errors at all.  Maybe some LED's have a decent CANBUS system that does work.  And these were bulbs from Aliexpress too...
