Skoda superb MkIII rear view mirror issue

Featured Replies

Hi,

I came out to my car this morning,  and the rear view mirror was detached from the windscreen,  and dangling by the wires. The car is an 18 plate, and I only purchased it in Dec 2020.

My local skoda dealer deemed it not under warranty as the windscreen has been replaced at some point (not by them) and the bonding agent used was not correct.

Anyone had to reattach a whole mirror unit back to the windscreen before? And what have they used.

Thanks in advance.

Cameron

Go back to whoever did the windscreen?

Got any pictures?

The rear view mirror mount is normally attached to the windscreen by the manufacturer so it really shouldn't drop off the glass.

If the rear view mirror has dropped off the mount, you might be able to reattach it.

The windscreen was replaced before I bought the car, so no idea where it was done. It looks like pretty crap glue or something they've used and it's just made a mess of the mount and the windscreen.

Contacted the dealership I bought it from,  now waiting for a call back from the manager.
