LED Light Pack

Featured Replies

Hi Can somebody help me I have received my new Octavia I order the extra of the LED light pack which on the Skoda Uk website says it includes LED strips on the dashboard font and rear doors but when I got the car there are no light strips on the rear doors is this right ?

thanks

mark

That is right

I complained to Skoda about that, and it’s apparently being retro fitted. They’re waiting on parts to come in as the heated front screen also hadn’t been fitted so both are being done together

Hi the LED lights in the rear are being retro fitted to your car ? Was it Skoda uK customer service you contacted ?

Thanks

Hi, that’s right. Raised a complaint as a mis-build as the rear door LED lights, boot release and auto-dimming mirror were missing.
They asked for a garage to check it first, the garage also checked the heated front screen as that wasn’t working, found that was missing too and are fitting that along with the lights.

Hi that’s very helpful thank you.

No Mk4 has rear lights in the doors, only in the footwell and behind the door handle. Don't be disappointed when they tell you they cannot fit the light strips into the doors.

Thanks I am disappointed as on the Skoda Uk site when I built the car I added the Led light pack option and it said front and rear doors. I have now taken this up with Skoda and they have opened a case number and will get back to me when I pointed this out on the website as it clearly says it.

Indeed it is.

I did not expect the light strips to be on the rear doors, so It did not come as a surprise to me.

What I think they meant is the backlight behind the internal door handle. There is a very discere led light behind it that does not change colors, but lights the spot where the handle is.

When my MKIV arrives my eldest son may be upset, as he really likes to change the colours on our current MKIII.

Why did you not expect lights until the rear doors? The led lights are supposed to follow the line from under the stereo, through the front doors and into the rear doors. It’s supposed to mimic the line that runs down the outside of the car.

The door handle lights are listed separately.

Skoda have acknowledged it’s missing and are supposed to be retro fitting but I’ll keep you updated...

”LED interior light pack. Includes LED front reading lights, door handle illumination, footwell illumination in front and rear, illuminated vanity
mirrors and SKODA welcome logo. Also includes decorative ambient lighting strips on the dashboard and front and rear doors which can be
set to ten colours”

The LEDs under the stereo and in the front doors can be changed but the rear door ones were missing

It would be really strange if Skoda forgot to fit the rear door ambient lights to all of us.

‘Cost saving’ like not fitting the boot release button!

:D haha yes.

That's what I meant sorry, he might be upset if rear door LEDs are missing. He'll get over it, just wonder what other bits are missing!

Hi I have got a case number now and waiting to hear back from them there seems to be a bit of a conflict on the literature as customer service showed me the brochure that didn’t mention it but the Skoda Uk website does say rear doors I’m not letting this go I want what I paid for.

I think you’ll be lucky. On any review video you can find, regardless of market / country, not one Octavia mk4 has rear door led’s. In fact it’s referenced in most of them as “VW politics” fitting to golf and not to Leon/Octavia.

if they do agree to retrofit, I would suggest posting all the details on here so every other owner could follow suit. You’d be a Legend!! 💪🏼🏼🏼

Mate absolutely go for it. Must admit I had a moment when I read the literature and thought maybe they’d changed the spec and got excited. But then as you read different threads across different topics you begin to see how vaguely worded and sketchy the brochure is.
But all power to you and I wish you well on your most honourable quest!🙌🏼🙌🏼 😎

I took mine into the local Skoda dealer (not the supplying dealer) and had them check whether the ambient rear LEDs were fitted, along with the heated front windscreen, boot release and dimming mirror which were all missing. This was at the request of Skoda/VAG customer services. Might be worth doing the same as once it’s on a report on Skoda headed invoice it’s hard to deny.

Skoda said they’re listed as a pack by the parts section and it took a little while to identify the specific part - I’ve been told they will be retro fitted and they’re awaiting parts... I’ll keep you posted...

That’s excellent hope I hear something tomorrow about mine but that’s good news 👍

I've been looking at leasing a car today and obviously been looking at Skoda cars including the Octavia.

The optional lighting packs on all the lease websites I have looked at so far states this:

  • Front LED reading lights
  • Front and rear footwell illumination
  • Illuminated door handles
  • Illuminated vanity mirror
  • LED ambient lighting in 10 colours including dashboard and front doors
  • SKODA welcome logo

Hi

Mine is a company car and I used the Skoda Uk website to add options and in the comfort and multimedia sub heading LED lighting pack it says dashboard and front and rear doors can be changed to 10 colours and that’s what I worked of so see what they say when they come back to me.
