As you may have read elsewhere on this site, if you blow the fuse on the front wipers the rear ones will come on instead.

There is another thread (or two ) stating your wipers won't work if your bonnet isn't closed properly.

Suppose mine is a variation on that theme then

Managed to not shut the bonnet properly even though it appeared closed & the alarm set without a problem :eek:

Window wipers worked fine front & rear, washers + delayed swipe worked fine too. However the interval on the front did nothing. Normal 'on' and high speed 'on' worked fine.

I just find it very strange it behaves this way, I would have expected it to be a safety feature that prevents the wipers from moving with the bonnet open, avoiding a bad coming together.

Closed the bonnet again (properly this time ) and that sorted it

Its so you dont forget the wipers are on and raise the bonnet and the arms hit the bonnet. They assume if they are going all the time you will notice that they are on and turn them off before opening the bonnet, its only if they are on int you might forget they are on as they arent going all the time.
