quick question, quick answer

Featured Replies

I am getting some new pads/discs fitted today, the car is 20 months old and has 35,000 miles on it. I know the brake fluid gets changed every 2 years or 40,000 miles IIRC, should I just get it changed at the same time as the discs/pads today. I've been quoted £32 for the fluid. It's just the normal Skoda stuff not super dot 4.1, obviously if I get it done at the same time as the pads/discs will the braking be even better/will I still need it doing on it's 40,000 mile service? It's never been done before...

If you get it done now, you probably won't notice any difference at all (at least I couldn't!) and it won't need doing for another 2 years :D Otherwise, just let them do it at the 40k service....

I would do it now otherwise it's another trip to the stealer and another cocked up day.

But it'll be going in for it's 40k service anyway so either way it'll be 2 trips :D

hhhmmmm just had my brakes done at 33,000 miles, so yours wore out at the same time.... I only needed pads though, JBS said the discs were good for this set of pads, and will need replacing NEXT time.. (i.e 66,000 miles...)..

Just change the disc and pads now and the fluid at the 40k service and then you'll see what the change of the fluid actually does if you'll notice it at all.

And then tell us what you found out :D

Discs/Pads changed, didnt do brake fluid in the end.

Thanks for all the replied

Brake fluid is advised every two years, there is no mileage recomendation for it.

Never mind only another 4 months and you'll be messing around taking it back again to get the fluid changed.
