Just tried. Over £200 more than my renewal price with current provider

I've always had good prices from A Plan

Try A-Plan or Swintons.

Swinton wouldn't quote... waste of time. Do they definitely do modified cars?

A-Plan good. The guy was excellent and got me within £10 of my next best quote but with the addition of protected no claims and £200 excess rather than £350. I'll probably go for that.

I just got a quote from LV for remapped Octy 245, it's a tenner cheaper than my current provider with stock. Can't get an online quote from A plan, but I can't see them beating £280 for business use 20k a year with a stage 1 map, with named driver with same cover.

Greenlight sorted me out a great offer on my modified Scala.  Great customer service too.

My wife has had her insurance for a mod fabia vrs for years with Shielas wheels £50 per mechanical mod on top of the premium. Dependent on power change it can be more. My only gripe is they also charge for an upgraded braking system work that one out.

remember reading somewhere it's because you stop quicker and more chance of getting rear ended, all down to statistics and risk figures that insurance companies use.
