Bosch AeroTwins

Featured Replies

Hi there,

Cars now 5 months old and we’re suffering from the dreaded banging window wipers.

Lots of mention of Bosch AeroTwins being a good replacement.

I’ve looked online and getting different codes for them.

Could anyone confirm the set codes for the correct ones?

MY2021 Karoq SEL

The front wipers is the Bosch Aerotwin pack A864S (18"/45cm & 26"/65cm) or Aerotwin Plus (AP26U & A{P18U). I've just replaced my front ones with the A864S pack as after being fine for 6 monts ther originals suddenly started juddering. The new ones are fine.

The rear wiper is a Bosch A331H (13"/33cm).

With the juddering have you found its the bottom part of the wiper blade or top part ?

I find my drivers side (RHD VEHICLE) bottom part of the wiper blade judders. Think ill bring this to the dealers attention so at least its logged. My vehicle is only 3 weeks old.

I’ll be honest I’m not quite sure. However the blade seems to have 1-2cm of travel within the arm which I’ve not seen on aero style wipers before

My factory fits were fine for 6 months in snow, rain or drizzle. But then started juddering as they swept across the windscreen a few weeks ago. I couldn't put it down to any particular part of the blade, and they didn't seem to have moved at all. It was after I'd washed the car a few days previously, but I'd done that before without any problem. And fitting the Bosch wipers (from Amazon) cured the problem completely.

Think I may just purchase some myself, given the replacement Skoda wipers will do the same as my current wipers.

@CJJE I feel your frustration

Aeros fitted… whisper quiet! Certainly had the weather to test!

I couldn’t stand the scraping noise from new so new blades just fitted although car only just reached 3k still nice last August.

Now silent. Just over £20 for front and rear Bosch blades from Amazon.

After 6 months of use most wiper blades are done for, I change mine at the beginning of summer and winter, in between times I clean the blades it's surprising how much gunge comes of them, I just use a dish cleaner pad an washing up liquid, works for me.

It all comes down to how you look after them. The wipers on my previous car (subaru) lasted 5 years.

It might also be that cleaning with a scouring pad or anything else like that might be taking off the lighter grey coloured carbon / teflon / PTFE type of coating those new blades have.  I suspect thats the stuff that makes them glide so smoothly when new.  I now only ever clean mine with a slightly damp tissue with water only because of that.  I also found the Heyner Hybrid blades very good but watch out for the kit of 3 (rear is 1" too small for Karoq even though its their kit for the model) - just get the front kit if you want to try something different :-)  https://heynershop.co.uk/wiper-blades/612-hybrid-windscreen-wiper-blades-2618-st.html   £19 for a pair and they were better than 2 sets of Bosch that I tried - the bosch left a little smear in the drivers feild of view but these didn't (and still don't - fitted October 2020).
