Octavia III LED tail light retrofit shows fault codes

Featured Replies

Hi, I have fitted Oem LED taillights on a Combi, I coded everything according to the guide under VCDS adaptations thread. But the car still shows faults for  “Check left tail light!” and “Check right tail light!”. I’ll post the adaptation map also just in case.

Hi, unfortunately I have not been able to buy the oem cable, so I have to use the old software. I hope it is okay.

The adaptation map could have some changes as well from coding the headlights, although that shouldn't matter? The auto-scan is before clearing all dtc-s, however, after clearing it, these 3 remained.

I forgot to mention that all the lights in the rear are working.

We prefer to support Ross-Tech who spend lots of time, effort and money developing VCDS rather than third-party sellers who rip-off their IPR.

The cable is just quite expensive and I haven’t got the resources for it right now, maybe you could still help me? :)

Let the car go to sleep, now fault codes disappeared.

I'd guess if you can afford to buy OEM led tail lights then further outlay is beyond your resources?

The cable you use wouldn't be available if Ross Tech didn't build the software so you could buy it from someone who stole it.

I understand all that and admire their work. I will try to buy the cable asap, and fyi, I got the tail lights second hand for real cheap.
