Heard a similar thing around here about a mitsi ralliart dealer, used 2 spanking new evos to ram cars out of the way to get 2 other evos out. Happened 5 times and then they stopped having anything in stock, just ordered when a customer wanted one

I've driven Evo 6, 6 Makkinen, EVO 7 FQ 300, EVO 8 FQ300 & EVO 8 260.

All I can say is that these cars are fantastic to drive. Suspension is very firm though! One of the best cars I've driven!

Only problem, like others have said is stupendous running costs! I was thinking about getting one of these or a BMW M3 and after weighing up total costs the BMW M3 worked out cheaper!

If you can afford the costs, go for it!

I'd go for the Evo, just because It's a car I want to own at some point along my motoring career, Along with a 993 GT2 RS LOL!!!!! Although I'd plump for a V in Dandelion Yellow :)

****** to the cost, you'll always regret not owning one!

My advice would be to buy a VXR/new ST/Meg 225 Trophy, all are tunable to 250-270 bhp for less than £500, look awesome and have the new car kudos, Meg 225 Cup can be bought for 13,900 on gr8cardeal and having driven one for 3 days I can honestly say they are a very fun car (much more fun than my vRS), look the part, drive the part, stop the part, accelerate the part, and have tone of gizmos, and suprisingly reliable in the long term tests. The downside to them is I only managed 29 mpg, but that's still loads better than the EVO would manage.

Meg 225 Cup.....and suprisingly reliable in the long term tests.

Give it a couple of years and those gizmos will start failing... I'd have the Focus (but still prefer the 'classier' look of my Octavia), although, having been pleased by my car's showing against the Saab 9-5 HOT Aero's straight line progress I'm still not quite convinced by 270bhp in a front wheel drive hatch.... If anybody wants to convince me, please drop me a line and I'll have a ride to pass judgement! ;)

i'd say spend the money on the octy, the evo is a great car also but as has been stated so many times, the running costs are rediculous, 2 of my mates have evo's, one a 6 and the other an 8, and they are forever moaning about the fuel bills, i'm not going to go into the price of parts and service costs lol i know of someone who put their evo into mistu to get new brake pads and had a
