Engine cover 1.0TSI

Featured Replies

Hi! First post after years of reading, thanks for a great community first of all!

So, I just got my new Octavia NX after about 6 months of waiting, love the car so far! I noticed however that on my spec with the 1.0TSI mHEV (DLAA) it did not deliver with any engine-cover, which seems a bit odd since it has the "clips" where a engine cover could snap onto.

Is this something they missed in production, or is it simply not a part of this engine?

If so, did anybody find a engine cover that will fit (eg. from Golf MK8 or any other Skoda model) or is it possible to retrofit?

I imagine that would lower the engine noise a bit, so that's why im hoping to find a way to cover it up.

Same with mine 1.0 MHEV, so I do not think that they fit a cover on this model.

My 1.0 e-tech doesn’t have an engine cover either

Doesn’t appear in any of the 1l pics I have seen

As someone who works at a VW plant, i can confirm the 1.0 engines have no cover.

Thanks 🙏

Would you by any chance know if theres a VW equivalent that would fit (with or without modifications). Om thinking maybe theres a Golf 8 cover that could fit?

No idea about that tbh.

Hi Noli, very likely a Golf 8 version of the same size engine will fit. I got a Golf 7 engine cover for my 1.4 TSI, which also came from the factory without one. Personally I think the engine bay looks more finished with one fitted. Try the 'Bay.

I may be  naive, but do you think there may be a reason why they don’t fit a cover for this 1.0 version?

Purely cost saving, even when not base model.

Does it also not have the under bonnet dampening?

I did the same on my 1.4 Octavia 3, and also got a Skoda bonnet badge to fit on the cover as I didn't like the VW badge being visible when I opened the bonnet.

What! You mean fitting VW-branded parts to a Skoda won't increase the value?

Hello good morning, my tsi 1.0 from October 2020 does not have the engine cover either, where I bought it they told me that they come without said cover, I have seen photos of this engine, in Audi, WW and Seat and they come without a cover, yes, It has 3 lugs, which is supposed to be used for the lid,  Greetings

I'd say the 3 cylinder engine needs as much air around it as possible. I wouldn't fit one.
