Paddle Gears, Umbrella and Cup holder

Featured Replies

I have just had my factory built 150PSI DSG SE L Karoq delivered. I was surprised to see that there are no paddle gear shifts behind the steering wheel. Has the 2021 SE L variant had the paddles removed? Also  the umbrella is in one of the rear compartments in the boot when I thought it would be under the passengers seat? And finally, does anybody else feel frustrated that the cup holder I the centre armrest is tiny, and too small to hold even a small mug?

I have the paddle shifts on my Sportline, but never find the need to use them. I think they are trim-specific, or optional.

There is a small drop down flap under my passenger seat to hold the umbrella. It is missing from yours, or did the dealer just drop it in the boot?

There have been many comments on the 'cup holders' which have been designed to hold a small drinks bottle still while you unscrew the lid. Other threads have identified conical coffee containers that fit, although it doesn't address my complaint that I can't sit a tin of sweets in the cupholders any more :)

Chris

PS: having looked at the current brochure, it only mentions the DSG paddles in conjunction with the heated steering wheels, so perhaps you need to add that option to get them??

There is no drop down flap under the passenger seat for the umbrella. It's just placed in one of the cubby holes in the boot!

Umbrella on mine is under passenger seat yes the paddles and heated steering wheel where deleted from the MY21 SeL, now an option , I got a free Skoda mug which fits in the cup holder ,  just a shame you can't get sweets in the cubby too.

Wow....a free mug! Thanks to you both for your responses.

The other that changed was the wheels went from 19" to18"

I have the exact same car and note no paddles or torch but umbrella safely stashed in wee cubby under the front passenger seat. All as expected as I saw posts on here that mentioned the changes to the MY21 models. Oh, and my free mug fits perfectly in the cup holder too!

The Skoda mug, it's ceramic with a rubber top, which is very awkward to but on

I seem to have missed out on the freebies!

I think a lot of folk do, but if you don't ask you don't get.

No freebies here as well.  But as it was last June and we were just starting to come out of LD #1 the less things handled by humanoids in the car the better.

Christmas 2019 bought a pre-reg Se L. Got paddles, boot light/torch, no heated steering wheel (probably not standard equipment) and umbrella missing from underseat compartment. Dealer gave me an umbrella but it didn't fit, decided life's too short so didn't pursue it.

What is standard equipment is a minefield.

Indeed it is a minefield. Having bought 2 new Audis previously a complete list of equipment was provided. Hey-ho...

No, the removable torch was deleted from MY21 cars. I'm told it wasn't that powerful anyway, and I bought a USB rechargeable torch from Aldi as a replacement when they were on offer.

Umbrella is silly small to fit under seat. I will probably never use it as have previous Superb umbrella in boot together with another huge one big enough for two.

I had the removable torch in my last two Yetis and never took it out in 6 years. It there in my Karoq but again will likely never take it out. That’s what the light in the phone is for and much brighter!

Damn so people did get lucky on the freebies section. Though I doubt us Aussies are really catered for as we don't really sell alot of Skodas per year. Last check we have sold about 1000 more than the previous year which is good.

My Sportline has the paddles, no torch as the light in the boot is a fixed LED light. Umbrella under the passenger seat, think ill stick to my Subaru golf umbrella which stays in the boot.

Thanks for that, Chris

Hi to the Aussie. I'm pleased Skoda is getting some recognition in your beautiful (and safe!) country. I too keep a large golfing umbrella🌂 in the boot but I would have liked the option of a small one under the passenger seat as advertised
