Transmission errors on 2.0tsi DSG - false positives?

Featured Replies

Hello, I wonder if someone could advise on the following? (Reposting here having posted in the wrong place yesterday)

I have just pruchased a Superb MK3 2.0 TSI 220 DSG, 2018 with around 14k miles. Serviced every 12 months. I thought I would just check for any codes and when I initially scan I only get two 'inactive' codes archived.  However, after the car has been driven (but not switched of) I get a slew of transmission related codes come up (see below).  There are no decernable issues with how the car drives and shifts, although this is my first DSG so I'm not familiar with others.

I did read over on one of the VW forums that the DSG throws does throw errors after driving and that they can be false possitives.  Is this the case or do I need to pay attention to these readings?

I'm using the 'Car Scanner' app for Android and a Bluetooth ODBC adaptor, if that matters.

Thanks in advance

Pretty sure you will see a load of gearbox error codes if the engine is running for some reason. Clearing them will bring them straight back so you need to turn off completely then put ignition on but don’t start the car and scan again. They should disappear then.

Thanks, that's exactly what happens. Good to know.
