H&R Wheel Spacers For 2016 Octavia VRS Estate With 19" Xtreme Wheels

Featured Replies

Hi guys, I'm sorry I know wheel spacers is a subject that's been covered several times, but now I've come to actually look at ordering some I've been greeted with a choice that I've never heard mention of before on here (or anywhere else), so I wondered if someone could help me. There seem to be two options for some spacers...

1. DR Version A System - Only for wheels that have a bore with an inner bevel profile of 6x45° and a maximum wheel hub height of 15mm.

2. DR Version B System - Only for wheels that have a bore with an inner bevel profile of 4x45° and a maximum wheel hub height of 12mm.

...but some spacers don't even mention those options?! I have to say this seems to be a very confusing topic to actually get the right part, whereas you'd think it would be go and pick the width you want then job done :D I do over-think things though, maybe I'm just doing that here

Just to confirm, my car is a diesel VRS Estate with the 19" Xtreme wheels.

Thanks in advance for any help

Check out DPM Performance website for wheel spacers, the full size range is there for hubcentric spacers from H&R that fit the octavia.

Example of the ones I purchased for the rear of my 2016 VR...:

H&R TRAK+ 20MM (40MM PER AXLE) HUBCENTRIC WHEEL SPACERS & BOLTS

Octavia 5E (2013-2019)

Part Number: 40555712

Hi Towelie, thanks for your reply. I've had a look at your car on your profile and it's very nice! Are your wheels the same offset as the standard Xtreme alloys do you know? I've been trying to judge what width spacers I can get away with on the rear (and front) of mine by looking at people's photos but to be honest they all seem to have pretty random results. Someone posting a photo saying they've got 12mm spacers on the rear and they look further out than someone saying they've got 20mm :D and that is with the Xtreme wheels so no difference in offset or anything - Madness. Tried to work it out with a tape measure and shoving different thicknesses of cardboard up from the face of the wheel into the arch gap :D 20mm seems like the tyre would rub the inner arch liner (car is lowered on H&R springs) but really hard to tell.

Hi mate, thanks, the Motecs on it now are a different offset and width, but if you go to the project thread:

You’ll be able to see what it was like with 15mm front / 20mm rear with the standard 19” extremes before I switched them out. I know what you mean though, there are some cars on here that look way lower or more stanced out even with the same kit fitted. Might also depend on the width of tyre they have fitted or brand / design.
I can report no scrub on the rear with the extremes or the wider wheels now fitted so wouldn’t worry about that 👍

Hi Towelie, thanks so much for that info and the link to your project - love seeing what you've done to the car! Nice to hear you reporting no scrubbing on the rear :) Have you ever had it properly fully loaded or just 3 people in the back say? Are your 20mm spacers on the back the type where the spacer bolts to the hub first, then the wheel bolts to the spacer? And are the 15mm ones on the front the type where you just need the longer bolts to go through? You haven't got any pictures looking down the side of the car by any chance have you? Would be interesting to see :) Thanks mate!

Oh it’s been abused, fully loaded with patio sets, brimmed boot with bags of sand for garden etc, had the wheels in the arch and no rub. 😊

Yep the rears they fix up to the hub with the provided bolting then you simply bolt up to it with the wheel bolts. The 15’s come with longer wheel bolts, you’d just need to source a locking bolt  set for the fronts.
I’ve got plenty on an angle but none straight down the flank of the car unfortunately.

Brilliant, that's awesome to know  Where did you source your longer locking nut from and did the original plastic bolt covers fit over it from before? Were your front spacers that came with the bolts H&R Trak+ also? Sorry for all the questions :blush

To be honest I didn’t replace the locking bolts for the front, never got round to it, but it is something that should be done :blush. For the new wheels I have got new bolts and lockers all around from LK Performance who stock a massive range of fasteners. Just measure the bolts from H&R and order to suit. Yeah the original plastic lock caps fit 👍. They were mate, no worries happy to help.

Brilliant, thank you for that info! Interestingly, I had emailed H&R enquiring about spacers before I posted on here and they replied today saying that their wheel spacer specialists recommended 10mm front / 15mm rear for my car. I'm not sure what that recommendation is based on really because I've heard of lots of people saying they could get away with 20mm on the rear, yourself included. Decisions decisions!
