Skoda Octavia 3 5e full autoscan wanted

Featured Replies

Hi all, a couple of years ago i mucked up coding my front fog lights. It has left me with a light stuck on on the drivers side rear. Ive changed pcs a few times since so no log to view. The only way i can see of fixing this (without skoda) is an autoscan from an identical car. I can then scroll down page by page until i find the culprit. Would anyone be willing to share an auto scan of a 2013 5e model please?

The autoscan will be different depending on spec, which options it has and exactly when the car was made.

You might be better to post your autoscan and adaption maps so people can take a look for anything obvious...

Thanks ill move it there. Not sure on the options. As far as im aware its bog standard. Is there a way to find out what extras are on like a plate somewhere or sticker?

Thanks

There is a sticker in the boot area which will give you a subset of the PR-codes but it's not a full list unfortunately.

Even so, there are many different spec levels such as an S, SE, Scout, L&K or vRS etc. Each will have different equipment and therefore coding.

Are you still using the pirated/cloned VCDS cable or have you changed tools since this thread: https://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/491099-vcds-rod-file-missing-sk37/

Im using the same cable but using the free version of vcds. I cannot afford software and a cable of that expense. If i was diagnosing cars for people then yes. Also i did try to return it stating it wasnt genuine but the seller has already closed the account. (Or ebay has)

Ill try and post the sticker with the variant codes if that helps in any way.

Probably the easiest way is to speak to Skoda who will recode the control module back to factory standard.

Quick few hits from google for 2013/14 Octavia scan:

As you can see, the BCM coding is quite different in each case.

The scans are all from Rosstech's site so you may want to consider supporting them by buying a genuine VCDS cable in future.

So i've found the culprit but now unable to find it in the list of codes to turn it off.  IDE 08539 is showing active on ignition but when the ignition is off it changes to none active. So my next question is how do you find a code that isn't listed?

How the hell i turned this on i'll nver know.

The lights on the 5E Octavia are controlled by a large number of adaptation channels in the BCM known as the "leuchte" channels - in one of them that relates to the right rear light that is on with ignition you will find the problem.

BTW Ross-Tech do offer help for people using VCDS-Lite, so it's definitely worth posting a full Auto-Scan on their forum and asking for help.

The use of a non-genuine VCDS cable is not really cool. If VCDS is too expensive then please try another product such as ODBEleven which is more reasonable. The pirated versions are only generally versions 12.x versions, only support cars up to 2015 and because they have been hacked, will cause random stuff to happen to your car.

You are going to get little sympathy on this forum.

Actually getting fed up of hearing about it now. I bought a cable which came in what appeared to be genuinely packaged. Until i contacted ross tech i had no idea it was fake. My problem is now, if i had known how much it cost i wouldn't have bothered A buying a cable and B modding my ecu in the first place. The mods aren't worth that much to me. I was just looking for some advice to reverse a mod but instead people prefer to barrage me with comments about using a fake cable. I wonder how many others on here also use fake kits but don't own up to it.

... as soon as they post a scan we can tell B)

I'm using the same cable but using the free version of vcds.

By 'free version of VCDS' do you means VCDS-Lite? As mentioned previously you CAN get some support on the Ross-Tech forum, maybe that's worth you investigating?
