key fob not working

Featured Replies

Hi my daughter has a 2018 citigo , today she went shopping and locked the car with the fob , on her return the key fob did not work , as there is a timpson key centre where she was shopping she pop in , the checked the battery and it was ok 3 volts , they checked the signal from the fob and that was working , as the car only comes with 1 key fob and a spare key any idea's where the problem could be many thanks

It may need recoding or rather resyncing with the car - it's in the manual. I think there is a possibility that the key fob has been squashed so that a button has been held on, and this can upset it.

Also try disconnecting and reconnecting the main car battery, as this does a cold-boot reset on the ECU, a little like you'd do on a PC.
