Dsg gearbox car over revving in second but not going anywhere

Featured Replies

My car has a problem and I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced this problem. 66 plate octavia sport 1.6 diesel has a dsg box. When in second gear it just over revves and just doesn't move anywhere.

Well, you don't say which box and that might make a difference, but anyway I'm wondering if you have an issue with the even gears clutch. Does it over-rev but still move in 4th, 6th and, if applicable, 8th gears?

The 1.6 TDI only comes with one DSG and that is a DQ200 7 speed twin dry clutch.  Lots and lots of threads on them so really there will need to be a diagnosis carried out by someone with all the gear and not just ideas but the knowledge.    How many miles has the car done?

Your clutch pack is likely shot.

You can try to update the software of the gearbox en do an adaptation run of the clutches, you need to go to someone who does have ODIS.
