Black screen 2 month old e-Tech Technology

Featured Replies

Screen just died on 2 month old car, remember reading about this issue but didn’t think it affected 2021 models. Can anyone advise on the fix, does it need going in?

cheers

Directly to the oroginal Škoda service for replacement.. nothing else to do..

What was your HW version and build month date? Just for others info..

I have a March 21 car and had the management screen go black on Saturday, I could here the radio ok, but could not access anything. Tried turning the car off and then on again but no Joy. However, after about 15 mins at home returned to the car and all ok!  I have heard that if you hold the on off button on the screen for approx 15 seconds it will re-set.

I spoke to the dealer about the fault. They say it’s a known issue and there is a recall for it.

Will you be taking it in to the dealer? Would be good to get an update once you are all sorted. I think my software version is 1788.

This is the full data list from specification, is this the latest? Had the car just over a week and downloaded 2 automatic updates via management screen.

1803 is the latest version. But I think it's not yet available for everyone.

Thanks

I asked about it in Spain and it was not available yet.

Mine just did it yesterday as well.  VRS iV.    It's happened once before but came back, this time dead for 8 journeys.  Holding down the power button doesn't do anything.  :(

Vehicle has also disappeared from my skoda app on the phone as well.

I've found that turning the ignition on first and then switching the engine on stops the fault from occurring.

Try getting in the car, push the start button to switch the ignition on then put your foot on the clutch and press start again to switch the engine on.

Mine worked when I went out earlier today.  I can't remember whether I double started it or just straight started with foot on brake.

I will do that with one minor change, with an automatic I will need to touch the brake before engaging the engine. Good tip though, thanks

I have Just received an on screen SOS alert from Skoda, requesting a visit to their workshop. All booked in for next Monday to receive a management screen software update. Hopefully this will resolve the system glitches👍
