2017 sportline suspension upgrade questions

Just noticed the rear shocks are leaking on my 2017 sportline estate , 2.0 tdi 190  2wd.

Bit surprised as it's low mileage and doesn't getting any ragging but however ..

Always disliked the suspension setup anyway so thinking of upgrading it all .

Just wondering if anyone has any experience of the eibach b12 pro kit on their superb ?

Also looking online is seems it's the E90-79-012 -02-22 KIT should be correct for my car ,but it has 3 options depending on the  max front axle load, kit ending in 02-22,(1075kg) 03-22(1120kg)  and 04-22(1200kg) 

How do I find out which kit is correct for my car and in reality what difference would it make ?  All 3 kits are rated for the same rear axle load (1253kg) which I thought would be more relevant than the front axle ? All 3 kits are suitable for the car according the technical data?

 

Any other suspension options people would recommend? Also had a look at the kw comfort coilovers which seem good ?

Not looking for much of a drop if any at all ,even a set of good dampers would suffice .

 

really good question, would be interested as my car has over 100K on the clock.  Did look at this but because of DCC on the L&K model i thought it would be very expensive.  I believe the Sportline has the same suspension?

Mine doesn't have dcc so i dont have your problom ,I believe bilstein have an electronically adjustable damper available though which is a direct retrofit .could be pricey though! ,Or you can get a dcc delete kit ?

There are already a couple of threads on this subject.  

 

For DCC there is the Bilstein B6 Damptronic that people are raving about.  Also some coilovers (KW I think) but they are pushing double the price.

For none-DCC you have the standard B6, Koni Special Active (formerly FSD) and miriad other coilovers.

For springs you have H+R (40mm drop), Eibach prokit (30-35mm drop), Eibach sportline (50-60mm? drop).  This drop is based on standard ride height.  Sportline is 15mm drop from factory. DCC is 10mm drop regardless of sportline or not.  Take those figures off the aftermarket figures for your drop.

Then you have RARB which seems to be popular right now.  Search for that as there seems to be conflicting views on compatibility and the options are vast.

 

Personally I am going for Special Actives and a rear roll bar with standard height for now.  Currently have some rubber spring assisters fitted to the rear which gives me enough support to help in the corners but is not a a long term solution.  Not sure what bar I will fit but happy to do that at home after the shocks have been done.  Will likely refir the assisters between times as the stock floppiness at the back end is not nice.

Just seen you already are looking at springs.  I think the difference is down to the engine/gearbox combo you have.  DSG adds some weight and obviously a bigger engine is more weight.  My guess is anything 2.0 dsg go for the stiffer one.  2.0 manual or 1.4/1.6 dsg go for middle.  1.4/1.6 manual the lowest.  Thats got to be a good starting point at least.

After researching on here I fitted myself the Koni Special Actives on my 2016 TDI sportline estate from DC Performance. Springs are original.

Much improved the car.

Original ones are pants.

Koni Special Active here too. With stock springs.

No ride height change.

 

Massive improvement in the ride quality.

Thanks to all that replied and yes I did search on here for similar threads and believe me I've read them all too !

However my inital question was related to the cars axle loads and selecting the relevant  eibach pro kit ,

I've  found out via the sticker inside the drivers door that my cars axle load is 1060kg rear and 1080 kg front .

I've changed my mind somewhat on the pro kit as I'm concerned that it will be too stiff and harsh for the roads here that we travel on .

Thanks to your suggestions I have decided to go for the koni special active or the bilstein B6 dampers , from research and reviews they seem to be similar enough in terms of handling and comfort .

I'm having some trouble locating front koni,s though ,there seems to be a shortage of supply in Europe for them for some reason .

I'm in a similar position, not much stock online that i can find, so narrowed the choice down to following options:

 

1. Koni Special Actives bought as 4 separate pieces, total £465

2. Bilstein B12 pro kit £700

3. AP Kit £328

 

I realise that 2 and 3 are kits, so include springs (lowering, which I'm not fussed either way), but the AP kit seems a bit cheap, is it any good? I've read quite a few threads about the Konis, and also Bilstein 16s (not 12). Is it worth spending the extra for replacement springs (presumably stiffer), and is the AP stuff any good? I was also thinking of adding a RARB, but probably not needed if fitting a stiffer lower setup?
