Powered tail gate has come to life.

Featured Replies

A couple of years ago after a period of intermittent operation, my powered tailgate stopped working..

I made a few enquiries and was told it probably cost a lot of money to fix so I left it.

Today it has sprung into life again.

anyone have an idea why this has happened?

Thanks

I spoke too soon. It’s stopped working again.

Please look my video tutorial from DIY’s section on how to repair electric struts and you’ll get answer to your question (hint: rusty electric motor brushes).

unfortunateLy that job is far beyond my capabilities.

I expect replacement struts would be gather expensive so I’ll just put up with the situation.
