Hello,

 

It's got to the point where my 341k KM Skoda requires an alternator as this one is about to give it's last breath. 

I remember having a chat w/ someone a while ago telling me that the 2.0 TDI from the next generation alternator is a plug and play swap for the 1.9 TDI PD one.

 

I didn't really manage to find anything on the internet about this swap and I thought I might be asking here as well.

 

Ever done, or heard about this swap?

No idea, but I'd check the alternator manufacturer's part numbers for both engines, not least because they may both use the same output alternator.

+1 on Ken above, look in up in Bosch, Valeo or other decent brand for each application and then compare part numbers, mounting, output etc
