Infotainment thicko needs help!

Featured Replies

I'm only a month into my 65 plate vrs and loving it.  But I could do with a little help on the infotainment.  It looks like I've got Amunsen MIB2 (5Q0035874A) head unit.  I was considering getting smartlink / mirrorlink until I saw the prices.  Thinking about it I only really want it for google maps.  So I've downloaded Android Auto on my phone, but it looks like the car might be slightly too old to be compatible.  I've checked and I've got hardware H24 and software 0241.  If I manage to update will that help me, or do I need to come up with another plan?

TIA

@pab567 will be able to help with the software update.

If SmartLink is not active then you have either to contact your local Skoda dealer for having it activated or the unit must be hacked.

Thanks.  so Android Auto isn't an option without Smartlink?

No it's not.

Smartlink is simply Skoda's branding for the car's compatibility with Mirrorlink, AndroidAuto and Apple CarPlay.

ah ok.  Forget that then.

thanks anyway!

If you have a nav unit with 2 SD card slots, hacking it is just a case of flashing some update patches, and then you'll have working android auto etc.

If it only has one SD slot it becomes more difficult and you have to read the emmc.

Marshy33, please tell me more about what needs to be flashed to enable Smartlink? I have a 2 slot 5L0035680C.

Thanks,

Kenny
