Featured Replies

RS  octavia mk4 owner here,
I have lost audio at all, no audio while parking no audio from android auto no audio from radio, nothing was done to the car, i was getting a beer for 15 minutes, after that no sound,
what i have tried:
restart infotainment and car, did not help.

Any ideas?

Try pulling fuse for infotainment for a hard reset

My issue fixed itself, just went for a drive and all good.
I did some reading, couple thing i found, that might cause this:
system went into mute, because of parking, incoming call, or android auto something, or even voice assistant, and system could not unmute itself for some reason.
so in case this happens again, disconnect phone, or leave it at home,
check voice assistant again,
check parking mute settings, there is slider,

I strongly believe removing fuses is not the way to go, that i would leave as last option.
but hey thanks for the tip @parsey83

And i might have another one now, since all is fine @sneal

I have had something similar happen twice so far. Adjusting the volume did not work. Visual feedback indicated that it was playing and that volume was mid-level.

Stopping engine and rebooting infotainment cured it for me.

Not happy about it but I have more serious faults that must be attended to first before I worry about this intermittent one.

Hi guys. Same thing happening to me. What do you need to do with volume slider regarding parking mute? Turn it all the way off I assume?

I wonder if there’s some sort of software update for this?
it’s annoying

NOTE: THIS IS FOR THE MK3 - AND, IS NOT RELEVANT TO THE MK4.

Hi everyone, for a while now, I've been experiencing no sound coming from the speakers in my car. Recently, I discovered that if I try to update it with a blank SD card, it works, but the problem recurs when I stop the car. With the help of a video I found on YouTube, I managed to fix the sound problem in my car. I'd like to share the link here to help others facing the same issue.

Irrelevant as the Mk4 doesn't use SD cards.

A swift edit to say it’s mk3 not mk4 doesn’t magically make someone pointing out it’s irrelevant to the mk4 abusive.

It is irrelevant as it's the wrong car and wrong software, wrong infotainment system.

You might want to try-read my post. For starters you didn’t edit your post

Same here. Sometimes happens to have no sound at all for neither media, parking sounds etc and at the same time get error message for parking assistant currently unavailable I presume due to no sound, but I wasn't attentive what happened before (phone disconnect, etc). It fixes automatically after stop car, get out of it and leave a few minutes. Resetting Infotainment by pressing off button for 15 secs doesn't work.

Any permanent fix would be appreciated.

Yep mine does this occasionally.

not for a while though, but it did it this week which coincides with a lot of rebooting issues I’ve been having too.

mine has canton though, so always assumed it had something to do with that.

i pulled the “amplifier” fuse and it fixed it last time. It’s a 40amp one bottom left.

Mine has Canton too. It is possible the issue is linked yet to Android Auto or media related. There was no obvious sign that pointed out the issue.

Anyway, I consider this as a minor bug that has to be fixed in any case by an update.

Disconnecting the amplifier has to make a kind of reset but you may also try it as I described in my previous post.

I had this happen last weekend…. Audio just suddenly stopped whilst driving. Tried pulling over and turning off the ignition to no avail but then held the standby button so as to perform a reboot of the Infotainment system and when it rebooted all was working normally again.

Thanks, will try that next time. I tried reboot while driving, with no avail, only ingnition off and wait for some 1 or 2 minutes tried and worked

If you've got the Canton sound system and have these audio drop outs then you likely require the sound system module to have its firmware updated.

Affects cars that are 2022 and older.

Here is a snippet of the TPI:

Similar issues have been affecting the entire range. The Kamiq I traded in for my Octavia had the same issue and it had the upgraded Skoda Sound System.

Thanks! Just made a booking to dealer . If there is an update will take some time to confirm if the issue persists as I have the issue from time to time, not very often.

Mine has the standard system and has still done it that one time last weekend.

Got the same update as you, 4019 from 4015. So far no issue with the audio for a week. I don't know if only seems but I am almost 100% sure the Canton sounds better after the update.

Have you also noticed some changes in audio quality?

This update worked for me facing same issue as you before, moreover improved Canton audio sound and it sounds noticeable better.

More than a month and 3000+ kms and audio did not go away since than.

Thanks @axw, I guess back to the dealership for yet another software update then lol.

Let me know if you experience same positive changes after ver. 4019 audio update, thanks!

Apologies for the late response, it was only an intermittent issue so I was waiting for my next scheduled visit to the dealership.

However the issue came back and this time seemed persistent over 2 days, I had to work for the next 4 days with no need to use the car.

When I came to use the car, the battery was completely flat, this has happened once before, also while there was no audio.

I called out Skoda assist who have run the update so will see if this solves the issue.

With regards to the audio, I do feel it sounds a little better, but possibly also slightly quieter at the same volume level? I've only been for a short drive since so far though so I haven't tried many different tracks.
