Replaced dashboard now key wont work

Featured Replies

I've just had the dashboard repleaced (the bit that shows the speedo etc) and now my key wont start the car. My wifes key works perfectly (this is the key the Skoda dealer had when changing the dashboard). They say that the key just failed and its got nothing to do with the new dashboard being fit. I think its a bit odd that the second that repair is made, my key no longer works.

If you didnt give them both keys when they did the dash they wont work, all the keys need to be reprogrammed at the same time.

:iagree:

i have 3 keys for my car and two of them currently live in my car as the operate nowt but the door locks, well they will start the car but it only runs for about 1sec as the immobilisor cuts in :)

You'll have to take it back with all the keys and ask them to do it or if you have VAG-COM and your 4 digit SKC you can do it yourself.
