Whereas who I've got a Skoda workshop manager. Would he do?

Unlikely. Geodysy is a specialist discipline in itself. Lots of coders more or less understand it when they see it; lots of geographers and mathematicians may be capable of coding it as well as doing it; I'd be surprised if a workshop manager has any of those skill sets.

Post your system information to check what software/hardware you have.

If it is a conversion issue, then it should be present on all units with the same SW/HW. Given nobody else seems to be having the same issue it seems unlikely :)

I'm not super familiar with the MIB2.5 Columbus but I think there is 1440 for that headunit.

@pab567 - can you confirm is that's correct?

Then it's up to you @Gyp, you can either update it yourself or ask the dealer to :)

Probably GPS antenna is faulty - try any other, e.g. the cheap Chinese internal GPS antenna. If this doesn't help then I recommend to reset navigation calibration data - it can be done only with diagnostics interface, e.g. VCDS. Then you should drive a straight road approx. 1 km.

Unfortuntely message with sw download link cannot be sent - probably @Gyp has mailbox size exceeded.

There wasn't much in my inbox but it's clear now.

Dealer replaced the antenna with no difference - whilst they are still dealing with it as a warranty issue, I'm not overly keen to start fiddling as I don't want to give them a reason to cut me adrift

Ah, software version.

I've surprised the dealer didn't do this as part of the service

Yup, it's currently on SW:1382 as shown in your screenshot.

I believe the latest version is SW:1440 but now your inbox is clear, hopefully Pab will send you a link to download it :)

They won't do any software updates unless you complain... But yes, I agree it really should be done during a service, especially given you've got issues with the headunit!

Thank you.

Downloading now, but before I do it I'll see what the dealer does next

As an aside, I naively thought that paying for Skoda connect services would include firmware updates but no. Seems like it has the map updates but not firmware.

I've not subscribed btw.

Did this issue get fixed? I have a MIB 3 unit with an identical issue.

Sometimes it works fine.

Sometimes it takes 10 minutes of driving before it works out where you are.

Other times it'll work perfectly for a while then drop out and starts to suggest I'm driving off road

Android Auto and car play are always accurate, whether wired or wireless

I have the kodiaq L&K on a 21 plate, ex managers cars apparently and I'm having exactly the same issue, have been to two dealers a total of five times, had all the software updated a brand new head unit fitted and I'm still driving in the sea at times. Finally the manager has now got involved and is supposed to be ordering a new GPS antenna.

Also having issues with the Bluetooth when making a call the Bluetooth will for no reason disconnect from the phone while the call is still active?? Can happen up to seven times in a five minute call and not once in a twenty min call?? Any advice would he helpfull. Using a Samsung A52 which is compatible also connected a Samsung A21 which isn't and had the same issue. Also the cars location when using the app I miles off as well.20220112_172739.thumb.jpg.29bd953134df7543fca5d73f03235339.jpgScreenshot_20220112-200244_MyKODA.thumb.jpg.a03023ece08d11b300916a7d50d08fbc.jpg

I had similar issues, Satnav showing car position approx. 1 mile to left of actual position.

I bought a cheapy GPS antenna and installed it, fixing the "antenna" to top left windscreen and running the cable to the back of the head unit, replacing the original cable.

No problems since.

I was told that moisture was the reason it was going bonkers (it had supposedly entered the original "Sharks Fin" antenna on the rear of the roof).

Numerous applications of WD40 made no difference so I splashed out a tenner on a replacement gps Antenna.

No issues since.

Might be worth looking at for a cheap fix (or at least to discard one possible reason for failure). 😉
