Afternoon chaps & chapettes.........

I've just got a question about the furby vRS and the oil to use.

My car is an o6 vRS so has the PD engine......

The sticky on which oil to use at the top of this forum is from last year and states that one of the oils was Shell Helix Diesel Plus 5w40...... Now i went to a couple of Shell garages and checked but the Shell Helix Diesel Plus only comes in 10w40. But they have Shell Helix Diesel Ultra that is 5w40.... but this conforms with vw spec 505.00...... I got some of the ultra without realising the problem with the vw spec and then went to Halfrauds and bought some Castrol ...... the name escapes me...... in a gold bottle 5w40 to spec 505.01......... What i wanted to know is can i use the Helix Ultra i have bought (vw spec 505.00) or do i need to look at takin' it back for mi money back?????

If it says 505.01 or 506.01 then you're o.k. , If not don't use it.
