I keep getting this error when trying to update the stereo software from 241 to 253

 

ERROR: VARIANT CONFLICT

 

MEDIUM: DEVICE DOESNT SUPPORT THIS                  (MAIN UNIT: VARIANT)

can anyone activate the smart app?? without bending over at the main dealers!!

It might be worth confirming the full filename of the update you're trying to use too...

MST2_EU_SK_ZR_P0253T.7z

.7z is a 7zip compressed file. You'll need to extract it's content first before attempting to do any update.

i have extracted the main file, do i have to extract every single folder

Should just be able to copy all that to the SD card or usb stick to the root of whatever you are using

that's what i thought, ive tried both usb below the stereo and the SD card slot in the glove box but both give me the same error

I think your zip file maybe corrupted in that case; might I suggest you delete it and get a new version from @pab567 if you are able.

@pab567 is the legend that gave me the link, unless someone has tampered with it.

ive just reformated the sd and redownloaded the link and it has worked .

just need to get the smart link app working

For SmartLink activation you have either contact your local SKODA dealer or have the unit hacked (pls do not ask how...)

I think I'll go and see the dealer and hand over £150 rather than buggering up a £500 stereo

@pab567 just found my old thread showing my old software, i will send across the VIN later in the other thread we are using. 👍🏼
