Hello, that is your rear collision avoidance system activating. The rear parking sensors activate the abs braking system to prevent you from reversing into something.

Hi

I try test this, and car dont stop.

I put somethink soft behind the car and just bump in… And i try stay behind the car and test if car stop for people and dont stop.

I have read that cars wit this function also have option in car system(radio) to disable or enable this. I have look and i dont have this option.

. I own car 6 months and this happend first time.

It’s called manoeuvre braking and you can turn it on or off in the parking and manoeuvring menu.

In that case, did you put in neutral, instead of reverse  and car started to roll?

No.

Yes? That's the normal function of a reverse gear.

Sory

Just put in revers not neutral and start parking.

Normal like every day.

MY16 Superb does not have Manoeuvre breaking.

This was introduced from MY18 onwards.

So what was that then?

I have do a research of this..

I think car have this function.  This function works if car have blind spot detection. And works with both sensors…parking sensors and blind spot sensors..

A component of Blind Spot Detect is the Rear Traffic Alert function, a first for SKODA. When reversing out of parking bays which are at a ninety degree angle to the road, the system recognizes vehicles approaching from the sides. An acoustic signal warns of an impending collision. In addition, the ‘critical side’ is shown on the infotainment display. The brakes are automatically applied if necessary.

Can somebody confirm that?

Could b the Rear Traffic Alert.  It uses two blind spot monitors (BSM) radars located inside the rear bumper.

See video.

Assuming urs is MY16, then definitely not Manoeuvre Assist, nor can it b enabled using VCDS or OBDEleven.

Yes, that’s collision avoidance. We have it on our MY16 L&K. It’s excellent, works with pedestrians, bicycles and other vehicles. I can attest to the front system too as it stopped the car far quicker than I was able to do when a car in front pulled away and almost immediately emergency stopped from about 10 mph; they actually went into the back of the car in front of them - ours pulled up with at least 6” to spare.

That is not manouvre assist, thats front assist! Has nothing to do with parking sensors, as far as i know that works using the front radar!

Yep, you’re correct, it’s not manoeuvre assist; did I say it was? It’s actually called Rear Traffic Alert. And who said parking sensors have anything to do with this; parking sensors have nothing to do at all with this discussion.

Collision Avoidance / Pedestrian Alert / Bicycle Alert / Rear Traffic Alert all use the radar systems and activate the braking system for the first three.
