Sorry if this has been covered before - if it has, point me in the right direction! I`ve been trying to get me HU to go into my octy but it wont :confused: . What I mean is it fits but when I push it back to "clip" into the cage it wont, so it hangs out about a cm. The cage is fine because if i take it out the HU clips in. Ive tried moving the wires out the way but still no luck.

Any ideas coz I`ve been at it and hour! :thumbdwn:

Its the space at the back for wiring that is the problem.

If you remove the glove box and centre air vents you should be able to wiggle the wires out of the way to allow the head unit to move back.

no need to remove the centre air vents on the octavia as there is plenty of space to get in there when you remove the glove box.

the glove box has 5 screws on it either 3 top and 2 bottom or vice versa can't remember now and be careful about the feed to the light as its quite short. it simply unplugs but do be careful not to just yank at the glove box and damage and cables or light connections

yes there's a gap to the left of your h.u. pull all the wires into that gap and it will fit fine

All done - removed glove box, pulled wires through and now fits fine. Thanx for the replys

help, I need to buy these a set of Torx sockets, about to leave for hafrauds, what should I buy, what size are these on the glove box?

T20 screws hold in the glove box.
