e-Volt / SWARCO staff like to go on about vandalism .

There was that around Aberdeen & Banffshire with Cream Eggs in Chargers and chargers off for weeks.

My local new hub had a fault with chargers newly fitted. The Unlock showed but you could not get the charger head from the unit.

Some yanked them, i reported faults, they said no issue, but one day a user yanked one and broke the head off.

3 months down.

Before that place was open last years the door was broken on the single Rapid Charger for Months. They said vandals, i say the lock had broken.

Edinburgh maybe a yanked charger head, more likely run over.  Often AC ones are run over as they fall out the chargers onto the road.

I have never seen theft of anything at charger points, or broken glass from cars broken into.

I see broken glass at plenty long stay car parks.

Perhaps they should have an attendant, just like in a petrol station....;)

This charger is at the Council Headquarters but they have their own chargers but use the public ones as well.

Staff with their own cars and not the Council Leased ones charge here, they see each time there are faulty ones or issues charging.

Before the new one opened Council Employees would block the only Rapid Charger at Weekends, Holiday periods.

I reported the faults nearly every other day over the 3 months period. I emailed the Council.  In the end i copied in every councillor to an Email to the Council Convenor.

They contacted CPS and SWARCO and within 24 hours a new cable was fitted.

I had taken the Reg Number of a Employee that said the Council were not paying for repairs.  Which was untrue.

All Local Authority / Public Place Chargers should be covered by CCTV, have good lighting etc.

Huge facilities like Stirling Park & Ride could have Coin op / Auto Door / Self Cleaning Toilets.

(People will pay £1 rather than going off to the bushes.)

No need for attendants here.

There are Local Authority Buildings & the Council HQ with Caretakers / Concierges and staff around. Well lit and covered by CCTV.

Some of the Employees dump / park their vehicles anyplace, leave them blocking chargers for days or weeks.

Now i just send an e-Mail to the Roads Convener and copy in other Councillors, it seems to have got the message through finally.

They are introducing a fee to charge soon which is OK as long as facilities improve.

I assumed the Stirling Hub has CCTV.

Shame it has more than 70 chargers available but only places for 5 vehicles to be Rapid Charging and 1 is faulty.

Could be much help to buyers of used EV's.

Particularly of BMW i3's.
