check whether or not the camshafts themselves have different part numbers

In the links I supplied ^^

The answer is yes, different cam part numbers.

After several disputes with part stores (they insisted in the part number 038 which is for the tdi)  i was able to get the 034.

But in two brands

Topran and VIKA

I dont want topran

Have you ever heard the second one?

No, I have not heard of VIKA, but that doesn't mean they are bad.

They look just like new lifters to me, I've used Topran before and they're OK as well.

You can probably take a set apart and service them, instead of replacing.

I hate it when I find that I have spent money unnecessarily in the past.

Mind you it was 30 years ago!

Other than an engine in a written off vehicle that had water ingress I have never had lifter problems since using decent oils and regular oil changes.

Hi guys, how much is the fuel consumption at idling?

Before valve lifting change was 0.3l/h

After new valve lifter and adjust of the injection pump is now 0.4l/h.

Will that increase be proportional and reflected in high speed driving too?
