Size alloys on the octavia mk3

Featured Replies

So this has probably been asked before, but I couldnt find anything when searched.

Just got my mk3 ctavia, and want to put some concave alloys on it. Currently looking on Cades Apollo, but Im not sure wether a 9,5j ET45 would fit at the back.

Would love some help 😁

If you know your current wheels widths and offsets use this to calculate the difference in "poke" and "inset"

9.5j et45 I would have thought you will struggle for room in the inner arch, even more so up front than the back. .

If your not on coilovers I think you will probably foul the strut up front.

How they fit would also rely on tire sizing aswell.

Not  sure which wheels you have, but others have a thread on fitting 9" width, but I'd doubt 9.5" will work. Most use 19x8.5" from what I've seen

They also come in 19x8.5. I would just love the bigger concave on the 19x9.5, in the back 😁

Great site.

So if i put a 19x8,5 ET40 and 19x9.5 ET45, they seem quite equal except the wider rims go further in. I wonder if a 5mm spacer would help. But maybe they will go pass the wheel arch which is illegal in my country.

Can somesone maybe answer this? How far from the wheel arch are 19x8,5 ET40.

Best Regards

18x7.5 et 51 with 225/40/18 and 20mm spacer was just about flush. So effective et of 31.

Compared to 19x8.5 et 40 with 235/35/19 the 19s are 3.7mm further out which should be ok. They are also 21.7mm closer to the strut, or 1.7mm without the spacer on the old wheel so definitely no issue there.

The 9.5 et45 would struggle in both directions I think.

If you add a 5mm spacer you are effectively dropping the offset. .

So you can still use the wheel calculator, et45+5mm spacer= et40

So it would give you the poke with the spacer on.

As far as I'm aware here in the UK you can have upto an Inch of wheel poking out of the arch, aslong as the tyre is INSIDE the arch.

As I say tyre choice will play a roll in what is possible too.

Yeah that's not legal here.

The edge of the rim has to be equal to the wheel arch. 🙄
