Wireless Android Auto

Featured Replies

Does anyone know what is required to get wireless android auto in an octavia? I'm not talking about adding a dongle but what hardware (if any) is missing from the units in order to get it working.

AFAIK, none of the MIB1/MIB2/MIB2.5 headunits as fitted to a MK3 Octavia support wireless Android Auto natively.

Assuming the hardware in the headunit supports it, you'd need new firmware/software writing to add it.

Realistically, the only viable option is a dongle I'm afraid :)

What's fitted in the new octavia mk4?

Dongles seem to be only for delivery in January at the moment and I'm impatient

The MK4 gets a newer MIB3 headunit which has both different hardware and software.

I've not seen anyone fit a MIB3 style headunit to an earlier car as they've changed quite a lot around how it integrates. That and if the MK4 section is anything to go by, they are full of bugs and issues at the moment :D
