wet passenger footwell

Featured Replies

i've got an Octy vrs thats started to let rain into the front passenger footwell, can't see where it's coming from and only the floor is wet, underneath the mat. Not wet in the back either, any ideas what might be causing it?

Pollen filter hosing id say, id take a look there first.

Then maybe check the air conditioning drain.

Both sensible sugestions :)

I had similar. I cleaned out a lot of leaf mould and other debris from underneath the scuttle panel and made a drip-shield from an old CD case cover that catches any water dripping onto the pollen filter (it was absoluted soaking) and deflects it down the drainagae channel. I've not hada ny trouble since.

Another one to check is the front passenger door - on both my old Octy I and currenty Octy II, water leaks in between the door frame and door card at the bottom front edge. Strange thing is the water only gets in when its raining in a particular direction. I'm assuming it is goes down between the glass and rubber seal as the door seals are dry.

Yep, I had the same problem... I found that parking at a certain angle sorted it.

So my suggestion would be if the water isn't coming in through an air con/ pollen filter fault then jack up your passenger side when you park!!
