Hi all,

Anyone able to help me with the length of the rear road springs on my Octavia 4x4

VAG code is 1K0511115DK and colour code is Red, Green, Brown.

Aftermarket parts are vague to say the least but at nearly £200 to replace the springs from TPS is a little steep.

Any help would be gratefully received.

The below two rear springs appear to be the next weight range up from 1K0511115DK, ie. 1K0511115CR, although they are both sold to replace both these OEM part numbers. The Spidan listing gives the game away, as Spidan lists the spring as having colour coding 1 red and 2 green, which is 1K0511115CR. Going up one weight range makes the spring about 5% stiffer, but the unladen ride height will stay the same because the uncompressed length will be a few millimetres less.

Notice that from 2004-2008, Skoda called the 1K0511115DK a weight range 8 rear spring on the Octavia MK2, but from 2009-2013 Skoda called the same spring a weight range 9 rear spring on the Octavia MK2. This shows that from 2009, Skoda softened the rear springs by 1 weight range on the Octavia MK2 with heavy duty suspension. 0YH is a weight range 8 rear spring. 0YJ is a weight range 9 rear spring. 0YK is a weight range 10 rear spring.
