Hi, would anyone know when Add blue and start stop were added to the 2litre diesels?

Thanks

Thanks for the reply, looks like the earlier version may not have had these features.

Those aren't features; they're just more Greenwash to go wrong.

Adblue and stop/start was introduced May 2015
The Greenline II models have had it all along.

Absolutely, consider it a blessing! not a short coming!

OK, I know I'm going to regret asking this, but Ad-Blue, what is the perceived issue with the fluid/system/use ... it successfully helps clean-up the emissions on diesel engines, doesn't cost much in the grand scale of things in comparison to the cost of fuel itself ... why the the downer?

I'm looking for a Yeti without the Add Blu and start/stop, anything before 2015 should help narrow down my search.

Cheers folks

There's a decent 2014 Laurin & Klement 4x4 170ps for sale at a dealership up here. My Dad had it originally.

The doseur system, running out, reported negative effects on power and fuel economy... just to be going on with you understand.

Looks like I just dodged that bullet then, mine was registered Jan or Feb 2015 and free of all that BS.

We're on  our third car fitted with the AdBlue system - a 2016 Tiguan, a 2016 Yeti and a 2019 Karoq and we still have both of the latter two.

I was a bit sceptical when we bought the Tiguan new in 2016 but in practice, I don't recognise any of these supposedly negative effects.

That's because Ken has made up most of them.

Edit: When I said the Greenline II had had it all along I meant stop/start, when the ad-blue was introduced in May 2015 the 1.6 TDI Greenline was discontinued.

Mmmmm I/we have had 5 cars that use Ad-Blue ... the earliest was a 2009 Merc, the last 2 were the Yeti and the Bavarian wonder ... never had an issue and thb apart from a few challenged drivers at work who put ad-blue in the fuel tank, never heard anything untoward, and the work fleet has well over 50 vehicles that use it.

Just to clarify, the 1.6 greenline wouldn't have ad-blue.

I believe the greenline ride height is slightly lower than the others? I need good ground clearance which might exclude the greenline.

I've had an adblue Octavia before, the fuel economy was exceptional, adblue appears to improve economy slightly when specs are checked, it does add a bit more complexity although it seems reliable enough from whats been said.

Thanks for everyone's input so far.
