Manual 6 speed gearbox oil change

Featured Replies

Would like to do this and looking online it looks like a pretty straightforward.  Looking online thought the jury seems split as to whether best to leave well enough alone. My gearbox is a bit whiney in 1st so would like to do it.

Cover off.

Loosen fill plug

Drain and refit bolt,

Fill until over flowing then refit bolt.

Missing anything here?

Does anyone have the specs for the gear oil?

DOH, SORRY,

I thought i read DSG.  Ignore me going on about DSG's and not a 6 speed manual.

....................................................  Ignore.

Yes you are missing things.

Best look at one of the guides on here that will tell you the procedure.

(Or there are Youtube Guides for the various DSG's)

Which 6 speed DSG is this you are doing.  Is it a DQ250?

Nothing to do with the DQ200 7 gearbox on your 1.4 TSI Superb is it?

Out of interest I have a 2017 Superb SEL with DSG. How do I find out which gearbox (6 Speed) I have?

I'm no expert but I believe that's the DQ250 wet clutch box.

What size engine..?

Find out what your gearbox code is from the build sticker in the boot.

Look up the relevant oil part number via one of the diagrams here gearbox Superb (SUP) [EUROPA 2015 year] (7zap.com) (first one is for transmission codes NBX and PRB, 2nd one as shown, KWB, MUJ and MYP). Cross-reference online to non-genuine equivalents if you don't like the price for genuine oil.

Refilling needs to be done with car dead level both ways.
