Front shock leaking

toe

Recommended Posts

Hi all

Just wondering where I would stand I have a 2019 super still under warranty I left it into the Steelers in January  for its second service and gave them  the list of problems one of them creaking noise  from front driver side suspension dealer said suspension was fine and they just greased  the bushes. Needless to say didn't make any difference now 8 months on the front shock is leaking oil what's the chances on getting this fixed under warranty I have a feeling there going to say it's a consumable part.

Any input would be great

Thanks

How many miles? It is considered wear and tear unfortunately but if it’s not done many miles they should take this into account and even the mileage from January when you first took it in.

The problem is you can’t prove you’re not one of those people who go over speed bumps at the road limit and don’t hit pot holes.

As long as your mileage is way below 60k which is the warranty limit then I would fight hard for getting them to replace it foc

I don't know if this helps, but I had a Warrantywise policy on a previous car some years ago and needed a new front shock absorber. Their view was that if only one shock was faulty it was covered, and they would pay for both to be done on that axle for safety reasons. However, if both were faulty it was down to bad roads or bad driving and they wouldn't pay out.

I'll give them a call and see how I get on can't seem to get them to do any warranty work getting a bit sick of their excuses over the last few years they can't seem to find a fault in any car under warranty.

i am on 5 years old and 40,000 miles and both my front ones leaked out of warranty.

Got bilstein ones. make sure the bilstein set includes the connector wires as the original skoda ones aren't long enough

I had both front DCC struts replaced at 56000 miles but they started misting at 45000 miles had to wait till they started leaking properly before they would replace under warranty
