does someone know how to remove this due to my retard spelling

Sounds like the switch has popped out of the catch.

would that be in the boot lid (orange thing) or under the catch somewhere

You have a catch on your bott? Are you prone to the squitters? :D

PS a friendly mod can edit your thread title for you

thread title fixed.

for the light to illuminate there must be a short circuit, so check the connections to the catch and also the catch microswitch function.

Id say there is an open circuit rather than a short circuit.

I would think the switch has fallen out of the catch,

i cant see any switch is it under the catch or what it now seems intermittant like when ignition is on

why can't i just leave thing's alone

The switch is in the tailgate.

Have you tried moving the striker back up? You may have it to low so its not fully engaging.

Could well be.

Does the light go out if the flick the catch all the way around with a screwdriver?
