Can someone please tell me what the price of a drivers side headlight cluster is for the above.

 

Yes my junk heap has some how managed to crack the headlight..

 

No stone damage, nothing has been near it. I haven't even opened the bonnet in the last week and all of a sudden this crack has appeared! 🤔

 

Initially been quoted between £433 & £493 depending on what is required. 

 

 

That's about right. It's a front bumper off job (I know this as I've seen a body shop at main Skoda dealer in Pilsen do that replacement).

Hoping beyond hope that it's a warranty thing as nothing has hit it and I haven't been under the bonnet for a couple of weeks, if not more and I only close it very gently. Never drop or slam it.

as Friday afternoon cars go, this one is really testing your patience.

 

Are any of the ones you can get on autodoc any good? And then get a local garage to swap it?

Had a look and the only one I have seen that looks the same is £499... 

 damn and blast. The joys of motoring eh?

 

Only other thing to consider may be a breakers yard one. But it's a big gamble on it working or not. Especially for a car so new to be in the scrapyard you'd expect some serious damage

Well I had some good news they've conceded that it's a warranty job and BOTH are to be replaced as both have cracked on two different places. 

 

So that's just saved me about £1200!

That's a one hell of a relief for you.

 

Did they indicate whether it was a issue with those type of headlight clusters? Or is it just a failing on the ones fitted to your car?

There are about 50 cars in the UK that have defective headlight clusters and mine is obviously one of the affected ones. 

 

There are some in other countries as well.

Ha! That will send us all scurrying to check VINs.  Mine is a late 2017/2018 230 and that starts TMBB.....

If you contact your Skoda dealer they may be able to supply you with the number range of vehicles affected.
