Workshop manual

Featured Replies

Hi

I will be picking up a 2011 Yeti SE Plus 1.2 TSI Petrol with full services history at the weekend. is there a workshop manual or can I use the Haynes manual for the Octavia?

Is there anything to look for? When I took out for a test drive run sweetly with no bangs or knocks.

How often do you need to change spark plugs, oil filter, air filter, fuel filter and oil?

My previous car was Octavia 1.9PD Estate with over 400000 miles with regular oil and filter change.

Thanks

I would be tempted to change the lot as a one off when you get the vehicle. However, if you trust the service history services are every 12 months or 10,000 miles - oil & filter etc. Spark plugs 40,000 miles, timing belt 5 years or 60,000 miles - don’t skimp on that one as new engines are expensive. Again, if it has been fully serviced in line with Skoda schedule then just carry on with the schedule.

IMHO a 2011 1.2 TSI will have a timing chain - not a belt?

You are correct. Timing belt only on later models 1.2 engine. Would be worth checking that the timing chain had received the update though.

Unless exceptionally low mileage it's a fair bet that any early 1.2TSI engine which has reached 10 years of age will have had it's chain and tensioner replaced.

Without confirming documentation unfortunately there is no way of proving it.!
