I bought a Octy VRs 2 weeks ago, 51 plate with just under 25k miles on the clock. The first week I averaged just 19.3 mpg. I thought it was driving style so for the last week I`ve been driving like a nun :(. But I still only did 20.3 mpg. Is this normal to be so low? I thought the vrs was suppost to do around 35mpg?

sounds like somethings up there, i get a figure of 33-35mpg combined (trip computer readout)

Try a new air filter first, then maybe try cleaning MAF with iso-propyl alcohol if you feel up to it.

Also check no pipes have come away.

The only mod I have is a CAI and its new. I`ve had no difference in mpg before ar after I fitted it.

That kind of rules out air filter, still worth checking for pipes.

The MAF seems really common on the 1.8T, so wip it out and give it a clean.
