Making Contact with the Czech's

Featured Replies

Hi Guys,

As we are now an established forum for a while generated very interesting and helpful topics and information is there anyone or any company that can make contact we the likes of the Skoda Fabia club in the Czech republic or kopistyling.

These Clubs and sites have a lot of Skoda info and lots of very radical ideas and there is a great abundance of Parts, Mods , accessories available that cannot be got here.

The Skoda Fabia Club have there own online store which is for Czech and some German Members and have always got new products on a near weekly Basis.

I look at the site from time to time and follow the links as I cannot understand Czech and they have a pretty good community like we have here.

So what I am trying to say is can someone get in contact with these people and let them know about us and possibly have an english option and options to sell products and other great stuff to us at a much lower price than here.

And as they are coming in the EU in the next few months more the better and no VAT worries either.

People may have been thinking about this but maybe it is time to address this idea/issue.

Sounds like a good idea to me, Robert.

There are some very interestingly "styled" Skodas on those websites you mentioned!

And as they are coming in the EU in the next few months more the better and no VAT worries either.

I have a feeling joining the EU may well wipe out the no VAT advantage :(

However, it seems like a pretty good idea robbie, its just a shame the only czech words i know are insults & expletives :D

I must associate with the wrong kind of peope or something

Yeah joining the EU has it's pro and cons but our rate of VAT at 17.5 is not to bad and even with say the Czech rate of VAT added and Shipping I'd say it would be considerably less that parts here and if we got some kind of union between our two sites we could even get discounts (Wishful thinking)

I can't seem to find any Czech to English Translator Programs on the Net unless you pay for them so our czech viewers HELP! :) :terminato

English - Czech (vice-versa) Translator...

Cool

I like the idea of this trans-continental/hands across Europe/buying cheap stuff abroad thing. I think it should be encouraged.

It's a shame our German members are no longer around. I have a nasty feeling it may have been the Rememberance Sunday thread that put them off. Nothing wrong with talking about it, it's just that other more 'sensitive' subjects were introduced.

If any of you are still :lurk: we don't talk about it all the time. Honest.

  • Author

Maybe it did put them off but it was'nt to sensitive to be honest and as an Ex-Serviceman I would encourage such threads as that as it is merely remembering fallen comrades. We do seem on the other hand to have a few members from the Balkans and Scandanavia although and maybe further a field such as Aus and The USA :)

Don't get me wrong Robbie, we should never forget those who gave their lives so that, let's face it, we can **** about on here. What I meant was that we mentioned other more sensitive episodes of Germany's history.

Back on topic...

:bigcrowd: to the Czech boys and girls.

Yeah no problems no offence was taken at any stage.

Well Lets all make some noise and some might hear us :cussing:

Speaking of scandinavians.. Being one, I don't see anyone saving anything buying from here :D

Hello Octopus 4x4.

A very warm welcome to briskoda on this sunny, Sunday afternoon!

(well it's sunny here anyway :) )

Yeah sunny here as well...... Car needed washing anyway ;)

My wife is Czech and that's part of the reason why I bought a vRS!

If you post the e-mail you want to send to the webmaster I can ask her to translate it for you and then you can send it on. You'll probably get a better response in Czech.

Also if you're interested a friend of mine in Czech drives a vRs professionally in some rally series over there, not sure that he would have much to say as his english isn't so hot, but he might have some pictures to share.

Uptheposh.

Hello,

Mabye I can Help you with the contact too the German Forum "Skoda-Community.de" , They have got good Connections to the Czechs.

I live in Germany and use the German Forum quite a lot.

I

Hi! You wrote that the Germans are no more here, well I'm still here reading. I only have problems writing replies, my firewall software keeps logging me out. I assure you, the fact, that the German members aren't here so frequently has nothing to do with Rememberance Day in the UK, I suppose it is more or less the fact, that for many it is too difficult reading so many threads in English language. It is much easier for us to read in the German community ;) though I very much like it here!

But back to the subject: we also don't have regular contact with the Czech Skodaclub. We tried to buy some interesting extras from their shop, I tried a hundred times, but their mailbox doesn't work. Though I must admit we haven't treid hard to get in contact, because many of them don't speak German or English and hardly anyone of us speaks Czech. But it would be great, seeing the communities grow together.

We have a member from Eastern Germany who very frequently travels to meetings in the Czech Republic and Slovakia, but it is a long journey to get there.

Best wishes from Germany

Stefan
