Is there a way to preserve the original track running order of albums? My Bolero plays the tracks in alphabetical order.

I'm guessing this might be because the album tracks haven't been 'numbered', so are defaulting to playing in alphabetical order.

On my USB stick, I have a separate folder for each album, and in each folder I number each track to make sure that songs play in the correct order.

So, for example:

Folders

Beatles - Revolver
Beatles - Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band
Beatles - Abbey Road

Beatles - Abbey Road

01. Come Together
02. Something
03. Maxwell’s Silver Hammer
04. Oh! Darling
05. Octopus’s Garden
etc...

I use 'Media Monkey' (https://www.mediamonkey.com/) - a free program to title and order my music tracks and folders and to attach album art. Another, similar, free program is 'MP3tag' (https://www.mp3tag.de/en/)

So far, I'm finding that all album art is showing correctly as it should, and also that each music album or track always resumes from where it left off every time I start the car.

Thank you P-J. When I use my laptop to view the files on the stick, they are numbered, but not on the bolero. I'll investigate those links you kindly provided; it would be nice to see the album art too.

Thanks P-J.

I reorganised my music on the USB Stick as you suggested into a separate folder for each Artist - Album (I just used File Explorer on a Windows PC). I didn't bother with the track numbering (sorry) but it seems like it works OK now, ie if I stop the car part way through a track then when I restart the car the music restarts where it left off.  Result!!

Thanks for the advice. All the Best

I own a SKODA  KAMIQ  2023 with two USB-C ports.  Here is how you can create & play a custom playlist, using a USB stick connected to the usb-C port through a USB-C male to USB-A female connector.

Lets say there are 5 songs written in the usb stick :  song1.mp3, , , , , song5.mp3.    *** ONLY ENGLISH alphabet letters are allowed in the song filenames ***

Lets say that you want to create a playlist with this playing order :  song3.mp3,  song1.mp3,  song4.mp3,  song2.mp3,  song5.mp3.

Open notepad (windows) and in an empty file put the following text :

<?wpl version="1.0"?>
<smil>
    <head>
        <meta name="Generator" content="Microsoft Windows Media Player -- 12.0.19041.1865"/>
        <meta name="ItemCount" content="5"/>
        <title>MyPlaylist</title>
    </head>
    <body>
        <seq>
            <media src="
song3.mp3"/>

            <media src="song1.mp3"/>

            <media src="song4.mp3"/>

            <media src="song2.mp3"/>

            <media src="song5.mp3"/>

        </seq>
    </body>
</smil>

Save the file as "MyPlaylist.wpl" and copy it to the USB stick.

Keep in mind that :

-the filename of the playlist must be the same as the name in the 6th line of the above text   <title>MyPlaylist</title>

-the number of songs in the list must be equal to the number in the 5th line of the above text  :   <meta name="ItemCount" content="5"/>

-ONLY ENGLISH alphabet letters are allowed in the song filenames and inside this .wpl file.

Even one non-english letter will make the playlist unreadable!!

Connect the USB stick, and from the media menu  load the playlist MyPlaylist.wpl, and that it!!!

Enjoy!!!

I have this very same issue; mine goes back to a folder on my USB, not the first folder though, and restarts from there. Drives me nuts. I;m going to rename the folder to see what it reverts to next.

I've been battling with this issue with my MIB3 system on my Seat Ateca for the past few months.  I listen to a lot of audiobooks and most have been converted from audio CDs to MP3 format using some free converter software.  I create a folder on the USB stick for the author, then subfolders for each book by that author and in most cases, there are subfolders for each disk.  All my previous vehicles have coped with this layout fine, but not the Ateca.  It would come to the end of the current track/chapter then start playing chapter one from a completely different story, sometimes by the same author, sometimes the first story on the USB stick.

I conducted various research and concluded that the files were missing the MP3 tag information so I have used the mp3tag software to apply tags to each track to ensure each filename and track name were unique.  This didn't solve the issue, so I then ensured that the title, artist and album artist were all correct.

This has helped - I then found that one story I was listening to skipped from track 12 to track 22 when it reached the end of track 12 after restarting my journey (the system remembers where I get to when I switch the engine off and will continue where it left off upon restarting the engine but typically jump to a different track when it gets to the end of the current track).  At the end of track 22 it jumped to track 32.  Further investigation revealed that the story was divided into Disk 1, Disk 2, Disk 3, etc. and track 22 was the first track on disk 2 and track 32 was the first track on disk 3.  I therefore moved all tracks into the main folder for the story and used the Oplisker program to create playlists for each story.

The USB stick is back in the car and I have just selected the playlist for a Disk Francis story - I'll see what happens over the next couple of days!
