Unresponsive headunit - touch not working

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Jumped in the car this morning and the touch ain't working on my headunit... sound and selection is fine using buttons though.

Any way to rectify this or reset the headunit?

If worst case scenario it's broke can I swap with another Mk3 (2015, 1.4 tdi) headunit (and are the headunits interchangeable and a case of plug and play?)?

Also I noticed I can scroll to the factory reset settings using the buttons but cannot select 'yes' or 'not which is annoying and defies the point of having buttons. Any help is appreciated cheers.

You might find that the screen of the head unit is suffering with the cold and damp/condensation, if this morning in Cardiff is anything like it is here in the Midlands.

It will probably come back to life after the car has warmed up inside.

Regarding plug and play of another unit - I think not.

Which head unit is it?

Can you reset it by holding down the power button for 30 seconds until you see the skoda logo?

this usually fixes my smartlink error when it decides to play up.

Hey there,

I bought a Skoda Fabia (2015) recently and I'm very happy with it, except that I do have this touchscreen responsiveness as well (it gets better after a reboot but it's not ideal when you're in a rush).

I understand that there is a new version available for it (0253), and I've asked the approved Skoda retailer if we could arrange this software update (my car is under warranty) and I have yet to receive their answer.

Here are my questions:

- is the update definitely improving the issue?

- how safe would it be do update the system myself, should the retailer prove unresponsive as well (and providing that it is about a 100 miles from where I live)?

- would proceeding to the update myself mean that the warranty would be void?

- where can I get this specific software update file?

Many thanks!

@Entropyk   Have a you look at the thread "I need a bolero update", and ask @pab567there.

There's also an old thread about the specific version you have:
