Plus you have to be seen in such a trendy car, not me at all.

Even if the prices were reversed I'd have made the same choice given just the two to choose from..

bmw's ... their fav food ;)

I've been round Scotland twice in mine... I would reccomend that, some of the roads up there are fantastic!

Did a tour of Scotland last July, though that was when I had my old Rover 420Di. You're right about the roads - and so quiet too!

On that trip we did Gretna - Dumfries - Fort William (to Oban, Mallaig and Loch Ness from here) - Aberdeen and then back to Brum via Cumbria (Lakes).

I think it was just shy of 1600 miles in 7 days, which is why I didn't go in the Scooby. I'm not rich enough to afford that! :)

That said, the trip to North Wales last week meant that I covered 800+ miles over the week. I was glad of the smaller car too, along some of the roads *cough* tracks *cough* that I ended up on!

There was grass growing down the middle of the single track route I took to find one of the lakes off the river Conwy!

lol.. nice pic! I do like to take a week out and drive round Scotland, (went twice last year, the pics I posted in this thread were from when I went in march this year in the snow near aberdeen!) the roads are my favorite drive in GB....

funny you mentioned the scooby, it was the only car to pass me the last time I went up (if I was in a "spirited" drive mood.., loads passed as I was sight seeing !) we were on skye, and it was REALLY raining, he didn't try to pass me on a very clear straight, honestly don't think he had enough extra speed, but we slowed for a corner, and he passed me on the exit like I was stood still! my g/f could just hear me muttering.. "bloody lack of traction..." lol....... I love the way you can see for about a mile ahead on the nice long twisty roads, great drive! all good fun!
