I also did the SLA retrofit according to your post. That was in 2023. The matrix retrofit resulted from a broken SLA headlight in 2024 and i like the facelift look 😃

How much did the parts for the conversion cost?

I bought used headlights and a used bumper, trims and other small parts are all new and bought directly from Skoda. In total it was about 3500€.

@marv3000 - the facelift frontend certainly transforms the car nicely.

Did u have to change the bonnet too?

No, the bonnet and fenders or wings are still the same. I only replaced the headlights, bumper and wheel archs. No further adjustments are necessary.

Can the eyelash light be used as a daytime running light?

As far as I know, it's no longer possible to use the eyelashes as daytime running lights. It's no longer a separately programmable light, rather the light coding is embedded in the headlight data set. Adaptations can no longer be made there. This is unfortunately disappointing, because I also liked the eyelashes as daytime running lights.

visually - they look nicer, especially in DRL mode.

eyelashes also mean u have "Smart Light Assist" headlights, i.e. it can do matrix like high beam shaping/masking.

i get that you want an answer, but everyone here is here by choice. so sometimes you have to be patient and wait for people to reply. not ask the same question 22 times in 24hr in several different places.

read through the threads you found that are relevant and start writing out the information thats already available. then if you still have questions, ask those and BE PATIENT while you wait for a response.. you wouldnt ask 22 members of staff in a shop where the biscuits are without waiting for a reply...

FYI all LED Superb and Octavia cars have that DRL design.

Most people think of this when they hear eyelashes -

sounds like u a facelift Superb.

eyelashes = smart light assist is specific to the pre-facelift Superb that uses Bi-xenon headlights with special rollers for masking/shaping the high beam.

the facelift Superb has a completely different headlight setup, using LED and matrix LEDs for masking/shaping the high beam.

the eyelashes on the facelift only operate on when the low beams r on. i don't know if it is tied specifically to the matrix headlight version.

the same applies to the Octavia and Kodiaq variants with LED headlights.

I don't understand - it either is or it isn't.

Do u have a pic of the front of ur car?

That will settle any doubts.

If u indeed have a pre-facelift, then the part number on top of ur headlight will definitely indicate if it's SLA version or not.

Version A is non-SLA.

Version B is SLA.
