Temperamental rear wiper

Featured Replies

My rear wiper has become very unreliable... Sometimes it works, other times not, and at other times I'll switch it on and nothing will happen for 5-10 minutes and then it will spring into life. The washer fluid pump always works, and when the wiper does works it always covers its full range of motion.

Any ideas? Sticky brushes in the motor maybe?

Cheers!

i've got exactly the same problem as you described on a 2009 Mk2.

power seems to be at the 4 pin connector alright.

i've got to double check the green wires based on some threads i read, but brown and black are definitely good.

funny it will work on a cold morning, but not in the afternoon. Presumably after the mrs has been driving.

Did you get to the bottom of your problem?

Thanks for the info  - that's helped me fix my rear wiper problem, which had exactly the same fault with the circuit board.
