Auto Handbrake/ Hill Assit

Featured Replies

I need the collected knowledge 😉

I had all four tyres changed yesterday and since then I keep getting an error message on the display to “Depress the brake pedal” when I come to a stop. I have the auto handbrake enabled and the green light is coming on so I’m lost as to why the error message is coming on and if it’s related to the tyre change ?????

any thoughts

My car is an automatic and I have to hold the brake when I stop or when I initially start the engine.

Have you checked that the tyre pressures are as they should be and reset the pressures set.

Tyre sizes as before? brake pad sensor leads undamaged. Well thats all the simple stuff.

@darwinjake As @gumdrop says above, with the note that you must reset the TPMS after fitting new tyres.
