Thought you had run off with Tiger, get well soon.

Interesting update on the Forward Motors Story -in the local paper this weekend, (Luton Herald and Post), there was an advert saying that Skoda servicing in Luton will now be available at Pinney Volvo. (Pinney have a Skoda dealership in Milton Keynes). I used Pinney when I had my V70, and found them very good. Who'd ever thought that we'd see Skodas and Volvos being serviced side by side?

Pinney are also the scene of one of my most embarrasing motoring moments, but we won't go into that..........

Oh come on! Do tell. :D It's not like I ever hold back now, is it? Even if I've had not a faux pas for a while now.

Oh, OK.

A couple of years ago, I went to pick a colleague up from Pinney's, and I needed to move the sales director's Porsche to get my car out. I went to ask him to move it, and he handed me the keys and told me I could use it to go to the garage.

Off I went, feeling pretty cool. I got to the garage, and had to wait for the other guy, so I sat in the car park with the engine running, shades on, trying to look like I owned it.

After a while, the car obviously began to attract some attention from the guys in the workshops.(it was a Carrera-4 with full RS bodykit, in metallic purple). Eventually, my colleague appeared, and I went to pull away. Guess who stalled the car? Guess who couldn't work the &^%&% immobilizer? Guess who had to ring the office to find out how to get the bloody thing started again? And who was a source of HUGE amusement to the assembled spanner monkies?

Believe me, the colour of my face closely matched the car by the time I finally slunk out of the car park..............

 [sorry]

Sounds a little like the time my boss gave me the keys to his well kitted out Landcruiser to drop a gearbox into a garage. Could I get the damn thing started? - It needed two buttons to be pushed in a certain order on the remote, then the key put in, turned a certain way...

Plus it was my first time in an auto and in a 4x4 too, so to say I drove gingerly would be an understatement.

(at least you were in a top notch Porsche) :D

- Car Nation Skoda in Northampton have become a 'Skoda specialist' as well now !

That leaves Ampthill (tiny dealer) and Aylesbury left within 30/40 miles

Next up... Clarion in Worthing. August, I am reliably told.

Yes - Car-Nation are now listed on Skoda UK's site only as an Authorised Repairer. However there is a newcomer: Orchard, The Causeway, Great Billington, Northampton NN3 9EX are listed as New Car Sales and Authorised Repairer.

big K, I will amend WJH Motor's entry in the dealer list to include the new Bedford address as soon as I have the details.

Don't know if anybody has read it but in this weeks Auto Express the letters page has a letter berating Skoda for closing it's dealerships if they don't upgrade. IIRC the writer had owned 4 previous Skodas but went to Mazda as they had taken over the franchise that Skoda had given up on in the letter writers local garage. :thumbdwn:
